Why Are Songs Skipping On Apple Music?

There are mainly two possible causes for this
- Poor or weak internet connection
It is the most common problem
Even though you may have enough to start an app and play the song, however you may lose the connection before the file finishes caching
To avoid this, you have to check the speed of the internet, it can be easily done with help of “speedtest.net.app”
You may have enough connection to check email or do simple web browsing, but it may not be enough for streaming music.
Pay attention to both the ping and the download speed while testing your connectivity.
You will have a high ping if you have a strong download speed. A ping of less than 50 ms is desirable for streaming any type of music.
If your connection is not strong, then try downloading it may take some time but at least you can listen to the song without any disturbance.
- The app may be outdated?
Like every other app, Apple Music also has periodic updates. however, they usually auto-update.
If you are uncertain about the update
Then go to the setting then general and then software update.
If you are using Android then check the google play store for updates on the app.
To keep the app running properly, you will need to make sure you have the latest update.

- Weak internet connection

- Cache problems
When you download something on your phone or computer from a website or somewhere else, it is stored in a cache.

Several ways to resolve cache issues are –
- Try closing and restarting the app again
- If the above method does not work, try restarting the phone entirely
- Then you will need to clear the cache from iCloud. For this, go to settings>music>sync library. turn this off
- The above will only appear if you have subscribed to the Apple Music service.
- Then open the music app, and it will delete any cache files on your device
- Play the song you were having problems with again to see if it is resolved
- After everything is resolved, you can turn iCloud sync on again.
- Corrupt music files
This may happen if you have downloaded a corrupted music file, like a corrupt cache file.
There are many ways your music files may become corrupted. The method of solving it works the same despite its cause.
- Find the problematic song in your library
- Tap remove, after pressing and holding the track
- Then remove the download
- Then try downloading a fresh copy, or streaming the song online

Your device has different options regarding the music quality it plays, it helps in managing data usage.
But sometimes it may unintentionally wreak havoc on your listening experiences.
To Check and change this go to setting then music then cellular data.
Check if high streaming is active, and toggle it off.
This works only if you are streaming your music online rather than downloading or listening to it on a local copy.
- Issues with the apple music app
There is always a possibility that the music app is the cause of the problem.
If it is not resolved by turning off and restarting the phone. try deleting the app and reinstalling it again.
To do that simply tap and long-press the music app icon, then click the remove app option
Once to do that go to the app store and reinstall it.
- Issues with Bluetooth devices
Another cause of this problem may be with the Bluetooth device if you are listening to your music through one.
First, make sure the device has a full charge.
Then check if the device is in full range, it may vary from environment to environment, check for obstructions between the devices.
After all, if the problem is not solved try turning off and on the Bluetooth device.
Also, remove the connection between the devices and try pairing them anew.
