Can you use a Bluetooth speaker while charging?
Surely you can use your speaker while they are charging without damaging the battery. you need to make sure that you charge it completely before using it for the first time so that you can test its battery life. after charging for the first time, you should not have a problem using it while charging.

What happens if you use the speaker while it is charging?
The performance of the speaker is not affected by charging, it will operate just fine without any sound issues. the only problem is that the battery drains faster if you use the speaker with high volume while it is charging than it would normally have. so, it makes sure that it charges more than it drains you have to use the speaker with low volumes. if you see that the sound keeps on decreasing you need to either reduce the sound more or completely turn it off and let it charge.
The batteries also have problems with temperature. if the temperature is too high or low and you are using the speaker while it is charging, the charging may stop. this is because of the safety feature built-in several batteries. the best operating temperature is between 41 and 95 degrees.
You also need to take care of it to enhance its durability. if you are quick to charge the battery before the low battery light comes on, you could force the battery to go into lazy battery mode or memory effect.
What is the memory effect?
The memory effect can be described as a condition in which the battery losses more of its charging capacity because of incorrect charging. due to which the battery will lose its charge faster. If you charge your battery incorrectly for a long time, I form crystals inside which affect the way it discharges.
Even though you can charge the battery while using but you can not when it is half full as it will damage it. your battery will not be able to charge completely because of the crystals formed in it. your speaker will see if the battery is empty and it will damage the battery
If you come to know that the battery has a memory effect you need to charge and discharge the battery correctly so that the problem can be fixed. the memory effects happen only in nickel-cadmium batteries, which are almost not used due to their impact on the environment.
If you have lithium-ion batteries you do not need to worry about the memory effect. the battery has a no. of charge and discharge cycle once it is done the life of the battery will be no more.
What are the benefits you get, by switching off the speaker while it is charging?
Your speaker like any other machine needs breaks to enhance or improve its performance and battery life.
Switching off the speaker allows the battery to charge fast. as a rule of thumb, you should charge your speaker once it gets below 20 % and charges it is 90%.
You save the life of your battery by doing this. as charging while using is not good for the long run as it is not good for the battery cells.
If the surrounding temperature is within the recommended battery range, there is very little chance that the battery will overheat when charging when switched off. most lithium-ion batteries heat up while use and if you charge them right after use there is a chance that they may get damaged. so, give your battery some rest and charge it switched off sometimes.
Is it okay to leave the speaker charging overnight?
If you are the type of person who sleeps with music on or carries your speaker with you the entire day then you might want to charge your speaker overnight. most speakers have a smart feature of turning off the charge when it is completely charged however some speakers don’t have this feature.
The problem is that you should not charge your speaker to full capacity if you want to protect it in long run. when the battery charges to 100% and it is plugged in, the high voltage will stress the battery, especially Li-ion batteries.
For Bluetooth speakers, there is a charging light that consumes some charge so every time a small percentage of charge is gone the speaker will be charged again to 100%. because of this even with overcharging protection, your battery will charge continuously throughout the night.
When you leave the battery plugged in for a long time, what happens?
The Bluetooth speaker battery has a cathode and an anode. to generate power, ions are pushed from one electrode to the next and the ions respond by pushing back. in the process of pushing back, they generate energy.
When your battery is drained completely or charged to 100%, the ions will be on one electrode, and they will not have enough space to anchor themselves. the ions will then get restless and starts to release kinetic energy which can destroy the cells of your battery.
Most Bluetooth speakers nowadays have a battery protection circuit that ensures that this doesn’t happen. the circuit disconnects your battery once it gets to a certain change percentage.
Your battery is safe when you leave it plugged in for a short while. unlike older batteries, newer batteries have protection against this type of damages
